Beyond the forum, visitors enjoyed a lively marketplace of Taiwanese food, drinks, cultural products and hands-on activities. The event drew a diverse audience, and many vendors sold out before the day was over — a clear sign of the strong local interest in Taiwanese culture.

The Taiwanese tea experience was another success. Organised together with Swiss tea retailer Südhang, all three tea sessions filled up shortly after registration opened. Guided by two tea masters, participants tasted a selection of premium Taiwanese teas while learning about Taiwan’s tea heritage and traditions. For many Swiss guests it was their first in-depth encounter with Taiwanese tea culture, sparking lively conversation and a deeper appreciation of Taiwan’s heritage and way of life.

The special exhibition Taiwan and Switzerland: Reflections in the Mirror, created jointly by the Taiwanfest 2025 team and Taiwan Youth Initiatives in Europe, also drew warm responses. Through photographs and stories it explored the cultural connections between the two countries, inviting reflection, discussion and exchange among visitors.

The event attracted notable media attention. On the evening of the event, the regional newspaper Luzerner Zeitung published a feature on Taiwan–Switzerland relations and the forum discussions, further extending the day’s reach and impact.

Surf Taiwan was more than an event — it was a bridge connecting Taiwan and Switzerland.
