TEA TASTING

A Cup of Tea to Carry You Across Taiwan
Many say Taiwan is a small island.
For those of us who grew up with tea, it is an entire universe.
High in the misty mountains above 2,000 meters, tea trees absorb the essence of the land—becoming elegant, full-bodied oolong with a lingering sweetness.
That is the taste of Taiwan.
In Switzerland, we bring you this “tea from the clouds” experience—guided by Swiss tea expert Patrik Gertschen from Südhang, a Zurich-based boutique brand bridging wine and Taiwanese tea culture.
With Swiss precision, he reveals the nuances of Taiwanese tea, from floral aromas and silky textures to deep, roasted notes full of character.
This is more than a tea tasting- it’s a sensory journey.
Like fine wine, every sip tells a story of its origin.

EXHIBITION

TAIWAN & DIE SCHWEIZ: IM SPIEGEL DES ANDEREN
The similarities between Taiwan and Switzerland are explored through an exhibition that connects culture, geography, food, and language. Co-organized by Lauren from Taiwan Youth Initiatives in Europe (TYIE) and the Taiwanese Book Exchange.

Our Co-Organizer
Taiwanfest.ch

The taiwanfest.ch “Taiwanesische Bücherbörse” (Taiwanese Book Flea Market) is a non-profit event in Switzerland initiated by four Taiwanese expatriates who share a love for reading and storytelling. The festival focuses on publications in Traditional Chinese and also features a lively market with Taiwanese culture and food.
The first festival was held in 2023 in Rotkreuz, brought about 250 participants from across Switzerland for a day of second-hand books, food, literary talks, children’s workshops, picture-book storytelling, and Gongfu Cha.
The second edition in 2025, held in central Zürich, expanded the program with Taiwan–Switzerland cultural exhibitions, a four-language poetry exhibition, a postcard exhibition, and a story concert, attracting around 350 visitors.
Encouraged by the positive feedback, we are now preparing for the third “Taiwanesische Bücherbörse” in 2027 and look forward to your participation!
Taiwan Youth Initatives in Europe

Taiwan Youth Initiatives in Europe (TYIE) was founded in October 2024 and is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. The organization was established by young Taiwanese living across Europe.
Under growing geopolitical pressure, Taiwan continues to face challenges on the international stage, while human rights issues also receive increasing attention. Therefore, we focus on cultural diplomacy as our main approach. Through creative initiatives, we aim to strengthen Taiwan’s international visibility, build partnerships with international actors, and support Taiwan’s participation in international organizations.
